Luv Ka The End

Luv Ka The End

Luv Ka The End... what can I say. Shraddha Kapoor and Taaha Shah did an excellent job in this film!
Alright, let us start off with the basic plus points of the film. Shraddha Kapoor did a good job in portraying a young, average, love seeking teenager. Taaha Shah did perceptionally well in portraying a using boyfriend. The story line is rather intriguing and different to a point where one will think of doing the same thing to their boyfriend! Anyways let us get to the negatives of the movie. Unfortunately, there are quite a few. For starters the dialogues were very average. When a girl is pissed off at her boyfriend for two timing her and using her for an idiotic game, of course the female protagonist is going to say "Go f*** yourself!" and then crash his car. In many sectors of the movie there is too much unnecessary drama. For example, there is a scene where the main female character finds out that her boyfriend only wanted to "take their relationship to the next level" so he could record and put it up on the Internet. You haven't done anything with him, so STOP being so over dramatic with life and break up with him. Simple. In fact, the story could be finished right there. Next problem with the movie, not very comedic. Look, if you are going to make a movie a teen comedy, you need to have COMEDY, not HOLY CRAP WHAT WAS THAT FOR?! If you want to make comedic violence, please add some elements of humor. There are several other things that were wrong with the film that I could list, but I think these few are sufficient enough to decide whether or not to sit for 1 hour and 56 minutes of the movie. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars. Anupama Chopra of NDTV said - "Sensibility of this film is not youthful, it’s juvenile. And that’s before you get to the part where Luv, under the influence of some pill, dresses in drag and breaks into a song that goes: Mera jism, jism, mera badan, badan, main hun taza mutton mutton, khol dilon ke button button. I’m not sure what demographic that is aimed at but it definitely not for me. I’m going with one and a half star".

Music: I give it a 3 out 5.
For children?: Not really, more for teens.

Review for Murder 2

Murder 2

Murder2 Theatrical Poster

Well to start off with, we know that the first Murder (directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh Bhatt) was absolutely brilliant. With the suspense the movie created, the readers were hooked. Malika Sherawat and Emran Hashmi did full justice to there roles making the storyline even better and more realistic than imaginable. But let me remind you, I am not reviewing Murder (even though it was great), I am reviewing the "sequel". It was actually not a sequel, it was just another movie with a two attached to it. Simple. In Hollywood movies, if there is a sequel, the storyline usually has some reference to the previous movie, and if you have not seen the first of the sequel, you are completely lost. But for MOST (not ALL) Bollywood movies are not like that. So that is how Murder 2 is. Emran Hashmi is still there, but then there is the new and explicit Jacqueline Fernandez.

You would expect a typical murder movie from seeing the promos and theatrical trailers, but this movie is definitely not a run for your money. For all you horror/ thriller fans out there, this movie is definitely for you. Just like the first Murder, there is an incredible amount of suspense, but this movie is more erotic and dark. It makes you feel as though you are watching one of the Saw movies (as that was probably one of Mohit Suri's goals).

This movie was also a very similar remake of the Febuary 2008 South Korean film Chaser. Over all this movie is very edgy and has a punch to it, but  in only 60% of the movie. It has blood and screams, just like the fans like it. Are there steamy scenes? Of course, it is an Emran Hashmi film.

Other major critics said:

Top critic Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave it 4/5 stars and stated "Murder 2 is one of the finest crime stories to come out of the Hindi film industry. Also, as a film, it lives up to the expectations that you may associate from a sequel of a smash hit."

Raja Sen of Rediff gave it 1.5/5 stars and wrote in his review - "Murder 2 is flat, boring and not worth talking about. Even Emraan, sporting less stubble than usual, seems baby-faced as he goes through the motions. It might be inspired by some obscure film, but I don't even care enough to look for its name. By now, I've come to accept that the Bhatts have a bigger DVD collection than me. I do wish they'd stop flaunting it, though."

My Rating:

3.5/5 stars "For all you Indian Horror fans it is a definite watch!"

Children Friendly: NO NO NO!!
Indian Censor Board Rating: A
Music: Great music and definitely worth spending R. 175/- for the CD!
